Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) and the International Multimedia Telecommunications Consortium (IMTC) are pleased to announce their event partnership to jointly host the annual IMTC Connect Forum and IIT Real-Time Communications (RTC) Conference and Expo taking place September 25 – 28, 2017 in Hermann Hall on the IIT main campus in Chicago, IL..
The IIT RTC Conference and IMTC Connect Forum are globally recognized collaborative events where multimedia and real-time communications industry and academia connect. This conference will bring together technical professionals and business executives from the data and telecommunications industry, standards bodies, policy and regulatory institutions, and academic educators and researchers to promote an open exchange of ideas to lead future development in the rapidly changing field of real-time communications.
With the joint IIT and IMTC partnership, this year’s event promises to be the biggest and best to date! This is a multi-tracked conference that will run over two and a half days focusing on the major areas of:
- Internet of Things (IoT)
- Video and Audio Multimedia Communications
- Real Time Multimedia Software Defined Networks (RTM SDN) and Cloud Communications
- Mobile Networks and Applications
About the International Multimedia Telecommunications Consortium (IMTC)
The IMTC is an industry-leading, non-profit organization whose mission is to promote and facilitate the development and use of interoperable, real-time, multimedia telecommunication products and services based on open international standards. The IMTC hosts interoperability testing events and demonstrations throughout the world. IMTC has hosted numerous events to test WebRTC, IoT, SDN, IMS, VoLTE, SIP, H.323, TIP, and many other Voice over IP products and services. The IMTC Board of Directors includes representatives from Cisco Systems, LifeSize Communications, Microsoft, Polycom, Qualcomm, Spirent, Unify and Vidyo. Membership is open to any interested party, including vendors of audio, document, and video conferencing hardware and software; academic institutions; government agencies; and non-profit organizations. The IMTC is making “Rich Media happen Anywhere, Anytime.”
Global TADHack, which is anticipated to attract around 2000 registrants spread over multiple locations running in parallel throughout the globe, will take place right before the IIT RTC Conference in September. The local portion of Global TADHack will be held on Saturday and Sunday, September 23 and 24 on the IIT Main Campus close to the RTC Conference site. The Chicago winners will then pitch to the main conference, a mix of industry leaders, academics, telcos and vendors.
Between the conclusion of Global TADHack on September 24 and the start of the IIT RTC Conference on September 26, registrants will again be offered the opportunity to participate in a day of Tutorials on Monday, September. 25. These tutorials, covering important and timely topics in real-time communications taught by leading subject-matter experts, will be complimentary to Full-conference registrants.
IPTComm, an independent academic conference whose focus is applied research in the area of Real-Time Communications, will once again be hosted as a track in the IIT RTC Conference. Research papers accepted by IPTComm will be presented in the track and published. Publication details will be available on the IPTComm website.
