1 PM – 4 PM: How to Develop Video Applications with API’s
The IIT RTC Conference and Expo offers you the opportunity to take one or both of these two Tutorials on Monday, September 25, one day before the conference begins. We offer a morning Tutorial on Native C++ WebRTC Stack with Janus VideoRoom, and an afternoon Tutorial on How to Develop Video Applications with API’s, enabling you to attend both if you choose. These tutorials cover two of the most important and timely topics in real-time communications today, and are taught by leading subject-matter experts.
A Full-conference registration entitles you to take one or both of these without extra charge. Alternatively, for those who wish to participate in the Tutorials, but are unable to attend the Main Conference, the tutorials may be purchased separately for a fee of $75. Registration for the Tutorials, either in conjunction with a Full Conference Pass, or on a stand-alone basis can be accomplished on the Register page of the conference website

Native C++ WebRTC Stack with Janus VideoRoom – 9:00 AM – 12 Noon
Dr. Alexandre Gouiallard – Founder and President, CoSMo Software, LLC
The goal of this tutorial is to gain experience on the native libwebrtc (webrtc.org) design and usage, to the point of coding a native client to the Janus video room. This can be practically use for any native client on desktop, mobile, or IoT. Pre-compiled versions of libwebrtc will be provided, as well as an implementation of the Janus VideoRoom API. Pre-compile versions of Qt Bindings for webrtc will also be provided, to allow the audience to focus on the Architecture of the C++ WebRTC implementation itself.
“Peerconnection” implementation, the different observer classes that needs to be set up to achieve an handshake (a.k.a. JSEP), as well as the classes involved in the rendering of the streams will be explored. Depending on time, media devices (e.g. cams) capturing will also be addressed. The audience can come with a computer (mac with Xcode or windows with MSVC 2015 update 3, as described below(*) ) and code along, or just focus on the presentation to get a more theoretical knowledge of the higher level API of libwebrtc.
How to Develop Video Applications with API’s –
1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Vince Puglia – Developer Advocate, Dialogic
Video and WebRTC are quickly becoming “must have” features for applications in IoT, security, customer support, and social applications. Recent enhancements to CPaaS platforms, communications APIs, and visual designers have eliminated much of the complexity in developing video applications. By attending this hands-on instructional session, you’ll learn about these new tools, learn how video applications can be quickly developed, and methods to bring your ideas to life in a fraction of the time.
The IIT RTC Conference is a globally recognized collaborative event, where industry and academia connect. Leveraging its unique academic setting, this annual conference brings together technical professionals and business executives from the data and telecommunications industry, standards bodies, policy and regulatory institutions, and academic educators and researchers to promote an open exchange of ideas to lead future development in the rapidly changing field of real-time communications.
