About: Bill is currently NG9-1-1 product development manager for Verizon’s 9-1-1 product development / network planning team. His current responsibilities include leading Verizon’s product development and management efforts for 9-1-1-related products and services, developing and executing 9-1-1 product strategy, and participating in SDO and industry association efforts on behalf the company as a NG9-1-1 subject matter expert.Prior to joining Verizon, Bill served as Director of Product Management for ServerCentral Turing Group (SCTG), a Chicago-based provider of cloud infrastructure, AWS consulting, cloud-native software development, and global data center services. Prior to SCTG, he was Director of public safety and security solution architecture for Huawei’s America Solution Development Center, a division of Huawei’s Enterprise Business Group (EBG) / Open Lab organization, where he was responsible for creating & defining global Next Generation (NG) 9-1-1 and NG112 integrated command & control solutions. Prior to Huawei, Bill held a similar role with Motorola’s Smart Public Safety Systems (SPSS) division as a Senior Product Planning Consultant. He has spent several years working with various SDOs like the IETF and NENA helping to develop technical standards for NG public safety systems. He is the chair of NENA’s ICE, or Industry Collaboration Events, Steering Committee, a Vice Chair of the European Emergency Number Association (EENA) Technical & Operations Committee, a co-Chair of EENA’s Cybersecurity Working Group (and author of EENA’s NG112 security standards) and an associate member of the National Emergency Communications Working Group of Australia and New Zealand (NECWG – AUS NZ). Bill holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Arts degree in Science, Technology and Public Policy from the George Washington University.
